From 1995 till 2003, Yves Baudot largely contributed to the re-birth of the Namibian organisation in charge of the cartography (Directorate of Survey and Mapping), within the framework of a program of bilateral cooperation of the Grand duchy of Luxemburg.
For this project, he developed an original method for the updating of topographic maps, completely based on the usage of PC computers (this option was not so obvious in 1995 !).
He also established the layout and the legend of the new maps of Namibia at the scales of 1:50'000 and 1:250'000, based on multiple exchanges with the users (the layout of maps in the 1:250'000 won the second price of the famous contest for modern cartography " Avenza MapPublisher Awards " in 2003).
Most of the phases of this method were successfully transferred to the Namibian technicians. N.A.D.A.R. was also personally involved in the production of more than 150 maps.
